Boyle Family
Context:
Boyle Family is a London-based group of collaborative artists comprised of Boyle and Joan Hills, who met in 1957 in Harrogate, Yorkshire. The Boyle Family strives to create art that is inclusive of all subjects, and they are most known for their earth studies, which include three-dimensional casts of the world's surface that accurately record and describe random locations. These works use real site materials (stones, dust, twigs and more ) with paint and resins to create one-of-a-kind works that propose and give fresh interpretations of the environment, combining a compelling conceptual framework with a strong and haunting physical and visual presence.

When analysis the Boyle Family's work they usually captured photographs that focused on the texture of grounds as seen by above and they have captured the texture of the grounds by using compositions such as extreme close up. This composition was used in order to deeply see how many patterns , shapes , lines and texture the ground in capable of having. In the last picture they have taken a different approach and taken the picture when the ground was wet and heavy with rain making the tones ( light an dark areas) appear more noticeably to viewer's eyes.
